I was a guest writer for ReadLearnWrite! My post just went up today. It’s about my growing up as a less than enthusiastic reader, how things changed, and how I foist books on people now (including my family). Enjoy.

Okay, book-related question:

I still have a dozen or so books that are in pristine condition and I don’t know what to do with them. They’re mostly bestsellers, and because of that, I’ll probably only get like 75 cents for them on Amazon or half.com, even if they’re hardcover. Which is ridiculous and a waste of my time and I’d rather actually donate them somewhere if that’s the case.

What should I do? I’m thinking about bringing them to that used bookstore. I’d rather not have them languish on my shelves forever.

Highlights:

“He dressed very well, like someone who wears nice clothes.”

“But just then, I nearly tripped over my gas pedal and fell through the windshield. I am so clumsy. When we got to school, Edward’s well-muscled chest walked me to English class.”

“Everyone stared at us in the hallway, which was a long interior space allowing access to various doors. The students were wearing clothes and talking and carrying books. Through the windows of the classroom which looked onto the out-of-doors, I could see the rain was still raining outside. Then I tripped over my clitoris and fell into a galvanized steel AV cart on casters. Three people were seriously injured. I chuckled and turned bright red. How embarrassing.”

Sometimes, when I’m reading book reviews online just to get a taste of what I may or may not be getting into, I manage to stumble upon something that never fails to irritate me: “Sorry, I couldn’t finish this book because I really couldn’t relate to the character at all.”

What do you think?

I’ll be posting much more regularly on my blog. At least a few times a week, hopefully.
